Holiday Statement Pieces

I’m the type of person who sees something crazy in a store, and I must try it on. It either looks terrible, or it looks amazing in a way I’ve never seen before. That’s how I came to own this jumpsuit. It fit like a glove. Low cut, wide leg, the tiny pattern. The perfect statement piece.

I wanted to find a way to take this jumpsuit, and dress it down a bit – without taking away from it’s quirky charm. The beanie and washed out jean jacket do this pretty effectively. Then I added a casual heel, and a red lip to tie everything together.

For a while I shied away from wearing over-the-top outfits on this blog, because I felt that I had to cater to the college student who preferred minimalism and comfort. But I’ve decided recently that this is my space, and I’m going to wear the outfits that I feel my best in. And those aren’t boring, or normal, or created to look like anyone else’s. This is me. In a red pom-pom beanie and a wide leg jump suit, feeling like myself.

So, if you’re looking for basics – don’t come here. If you want to have a little fun with clothes, and try pairing together things you never knew could work – you’re in just the right place! I’ll be breaking all the rules from now on.
