Stepping away from the dresses for this post. I chose to pair a blouse and skirt this week mostly because putting pants on during the summer is way too much work.
People judge polyester because it was really crappy and over used in the 80’s, but they can make much nicer fabrics with it now and it’s really light which is good for summer (till your back starts sweating lol). Plus most of us can’t afford real silk, so this is the closest alternative to it. The navy crosshatching on this shirt paired great with the skirt, which if I’m being real with you, shrank in the washing machine (brb crying). So now I get self conscious when I wear it because I think it pulls on the buttons (you can see me fiddling with them in the second to last pic) but I’m still so in love with it! These pink shoes are just a fun addition. I thought it would have been a disservice to this outfit to pair it with boring shoes, so I chose these to keep with the bright colored theme.
Shoutout to the heatwave for making me want to rip this outfit off my body and put on an airy sundress instead. I liked this one. But the 90 degree weather ruined it for me. So thanks. I tried to do cuteness over comfort, but as always comfort won. Real life me did not wear this outfit all day. Probably will wear this outfit again when it gets cooler, because good outfits should be worn more than once, but far enough apart that people won’t remember.
Life updates: currently in the process of preparing the new house so we can move in to it in the next few weeks. It’s a bit of a mess but it’s quaint, and it’s got good bones which are all that matter when the whole house needs to be renovated. Also, I finally got a hair cut the other day, so I probably won’t be wearing these braids anymore, because the back is shorter now. I have sort of an asymmetrical, short bob. Can’t wait to start messing around with it!
That’s all for now, next weeks post will be another ft. my best friend Shelby, and it’s a KILLER outfit.
