Meet Julia

So, since I haven’t had the time to do a shoot, and today it was pouring, I decided to do another makeup tutorial, this time with a sparkly eye and a bold lip. My gracious and beautiful roommate Julia offered to lend me her porcelain face! Much thanks to her, I think this tutorial turned out better than the last.

She’s got flawless skin without even an ounce of makeup, like come on.

So we put a base of Maybelline BB Cream on her face, then I used a fan brush (a new technique I just learned that I think works soooo much better than a contour brush) to contour under her cheekbones with ELF bronzer, on her hair line and jaw line.

We put a little bit of ELF blush on the apples of her cheeks, but the lighting washed out the color a bit. The pink shade we used was close to the natural pink color she gets in her cheeks when she is flushed.

Then we used a small flat brush to apply an ELF concealer under her eyes and around the sides of her nose, then blended with a finger so it would look smoother.

019

Then I used this ELF gel eyebrow kit and an angled brush to feather some more color into her brows and also to hold them in place.

Then we gave her a little cat-eye with Maybelline liner, in this picture the angle looks pretty severe but it’s more relaxed when her eyes are open.

Next we put a chestnut brown eye shadow in her crease with a fluffy brush, a dark shimmer on the outside half of her lid, a light shimmer on the inside of her lid, and a highlighter under her brow. I also added the same colors respectively under her lash line. Lastly we used Benefit mascara to finish off the eyes!

Finally we used NYX Matte lip stain to give her a red berry lip! This is a great look for going out or going to a dressier party.
