Tomboy Vibes

Shirt & Jeans: Banana Republic | Shoes: Target | Jacket: Gap

There were a lot of pictures I ended up liking from this shoot, and I decided to add most of them just because it would be sad for them to go unseen! It’s taken me a while to get used to being in front of a camera, so when one of my lovely friends can capture photos that don’t look as awkward as I feel, I get pretty excited.

I’ve been pretty exhausted lately from work and a few other things, so I’m happy that I was able to get this shoot in! I have been trying some new styles out since I started both my jobs, and my new obsession is long and loose shirts that hang below the butt! Even a loose dress can look really cool over a pair of jeans with a cute pair of tennis shoes. The all white shoes trend has been going for a while now, and initially I really didn’t think I would like a pair of chucks, but I got these knock offs from Target the other day, and I love them. I think the white can add another level to an outfit that would otherwise be paired with a black shoe.

I have also been really into playing off the grungy masculine style, which is funny because about a month ago I was getting really sick of the grunge. These are just a plain faded pair of black jeans I owned that I didn’t love the fit of, so I cut them off to right above my ankle, and cut holes in the knees. Initially they looked really dumb because the lines I cut were just straight lines and there was no fray, but after I washed them a few times the cuts started to fray and rip and now I think they look great!

Minimalism is in right now, but when I was first putting an outfit together for this shoot I looked in the mirror and I felt boring. The outfit was just a little bit too plain to fit my personality. Then I looked over and saw all of my hats hanging from nails on my wall, and my eyes landed on this green one and I knew it would be the perfect piece to add a little life to my outfit and play up the tomboy vibe. I am also wearing a men’s watch in this that I bought off of Jackthreads a while back. It looks really cool, but it ticks a little loud and the clasp keeps breaking so I only wear it every once in a while.

Hopefully I’ll do another post in the next week or so, but if I don’t my next post will be for my 21st birthday! That one should be pretty fun because I will be dressed up, and going to a pretty cool venue. So stay tuned!

Thanks for reading!

P.S. You can tell my camera isn’t great because my shoes ended up getting blown out in all of the pictures, so sorry about that!
